I engage for a better life
The platform Business for the Society in cooperation with the British organisation Business in the Community supports the international initiative „Engage" or „I engage for a better life ". The project is targeted to provide help to the public-benefit sector in communities.
General description of the programme
Employees of large companies, journalists and people active in the public sphere spend one day doing volunteer activities. Together, they contribute to the improvement of the quality of life or the town or region in which they live and work.
Corporate volunteering unites the input of businesses and their employees. Employers support public-benefit programmes by paying for the time of their employees. Businesses respect, appreciate and support volunteering activities of their employees. Volunteers offer their energy, effort and ideas in order to improve the functioning of the public-benefit sector.
The project seeks to support:
- corporate volunteering as an important tool of social responsibility
- presentation of businesses in selected regions (in 2010 in the Moravskoslezský Region and in Prague)
- the development of the area in which businesses operate
